News & Notes
June 29, 2008
Congratulations!
We recently learned that sister Janice Hicks has received the Teacher of the Year Award at Chickamauga Elementary School.  We congratulate Janice on being selected by her piers for this award and we thank her for her excellence in the education of children.

Feeding the Children
This past week marked the halfway mark of this summer's Feeding the Children program.  We continue to have excellent support from our volunteers and we look forward to a continued participation.  Those wishing to assist one or more days during the month of July should sign the list in the foyer or see Beth Hullender, Tina Kellogg or Marie Nelson.

August 9th Give Away
In preparation for our Give Away on Saturday, August 9th, members are encouraged to be setting aside clothing, household items and appliances.  Items may be delivered to the Ministry Center beginning August 1st.  Please, no deliveries prior to that date.

Wednesday Café
Some have been inquiring as to when the popular Wednesday Café would be opening again.  The date for reopening is September 3rd.  Those willing to prepare meals for Wednesday Café should see Tully Crowder for date selection.

Bahamas Mission
Seven of our family members, along with sixteen other team members, are presently on Great Exuma island conducting Exuma Christian Youth Camp.  Please be praying for a safe and fruitful trip.  The group plans to be back in Ringgold at about 6:30 P.M. this Saturday.

Family Picnic
It is summer time and again time for our annual Family Picnic.  This year's gathering will be held two weeks from today (July 13th) at Tunnel Hill Park.  There will be games for young and old alike and a time of good ole fun.  Bring your picnic foods, lawn chairs and a couple of friends and plan to share in a great afternoon.
We will gather at the park following our A.M. assembly and lunch will be served at 1:00 P.M. There will be a devotional while at the park and there will be no evening assembly.  Also, this year we are inviting the Hillcrest congregation in Tunnel Hill to join us for the fun and festivities.  Don't miss this great time of food, fun and fellowship.

Office Closed
The church office will not be open this week due to Joyce and Mike being on the mission trip.  If you have an immediate need, please get in touch with one of the elders.

Mid-Year Thanksgiving

The Lord has greatly blessed the Ringgold church over the past several  weeks:
We have had two members to come through heart surgery (Jim Gainer and Earlene Travis), both continuing to grow stronger each day.
Our Monday Missionaries are meeting each week and doing much good in encouragement and good works.
More than 20 of our members have volunteered (so far) to help in the Feeding the Children summer program.  These have varied in age from teens to "senior saints."
We are blessed again to send a team to conduct Exuma Christian Youth Camp in the Bahamas and we were blessed to have several who provided food, funds and materials for the camp.
Our Pre School classes have made a successful move from their old rooms, upstairs behind the auditorium, to their new rooms, upstairs in the "old" building.
Many of us are now laying aside some of our blessings in order to share with others in the Great Ringgold Give-Away.
Our weekly contribution has grown and we are able to meet our expenditures and plan for additional good works.

At this time in the middle of the year we take the time to say, "Thank You Lord!" for the many great blessings that continue to come our way.

Mystery Child
Did you guess Bowman Blocker?  I am 7 years old and will be in the 2nd grade next year at Boyd Buchanon.
